Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour (Maida)
1/2 cup cocoa powder(you can use drinking chocolate powder, I use that)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/8 teaspoon salt
50 gm unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method of making
Preheat the electric oven to 180°C and place a rack in the center. Line one baking sheets with nonstick foil or parchment paper.
Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together in a medium-size bowl; set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, or in a large mixing bowl, using a handheld electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until light and creamy. Beat in the vanilla and continue mixing on medium-high speed for another minute. By hand, stir in the flour mixture until incorporated. Scoop up level tablespoonful’s of batter and shape into balls. Arrange the balls about 2 1/2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned. Let cool on the baking sheet for about 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
